Configuring SMTP Mail

Two transports are installed with MCS, SMTP mail and HTTP. If you plan to use SMTP mail to send notification messages, you can specify mail server and authentication options either before you create a message or as part of the message creation process.

To configure SMTP mail
  1. In the MCS left pane under Services, click Events.

  2. Under Events, click Notifications.

  3. In the Notifications page, click the Transports button on the toolbar.

  4. In the Transport Configuration dialog box, select SMTP Mail from the displayed list, and then click Configure.

  5. In the SMTP Global Properties dialog box under SMTP Host, specify a mail server.

  6. If authentication for the server is required, choose Require Authentication and specify a user name and password.
