- In the MCS left pane under Services, click Events.
- Under Events, click Notifications.
- In the Notifications page, click the Transports button on the toolbar.

- In the Transport Configuration dialog box, select SMTP Mail from the displayed list, and then click Configure.
- In the SMTP Global Properties dialog box under SMTP Host, specify a mail server.
- If authentication for the server is required, choose Require Authentication and specify a user name and password.
