Editing a Configuration Package

Once you create a configuration package, you can use the Configuration Manager to add a file to a package, or to copy or move a file from one package to another.

Note You can edit configuration packages only from MCS. You must edit single files from the workstation, then upload them to MCS.

Adding a File to a Package

There are two ways to add a file to a package — you can select an individual file to add to a package, or select the package to which you want to add one or more files. Choose the method that best suits your needs.

To add a file to a package
  1. In the MCS Selection panel, point to Products and then click INFOConnect Enterprise Edition.
  2. The Manage INFOConnect Enterprise Edition Configurations page appears in the MCS Management panel.

  3. Select the file you want to add to a package, or the package to which you want to add a file.
  4. To
    From the MCS Management panel
    Add a selected file to a package Click Add to Package, then from the Available Packages list box, select the package to which you want to add the file, and then click Add >.
    Select a package and add files to it Click Add Files, then from the Available Files list box, select one or more files to add to the package and then click Add >.

  5. Click Save.

    The file is added to the package.

  6. Note To remove a file from the Added list box, select it from the Added list and then click < Remove.

Copying or Moving Files from One Package to Another

You can easily copy or move files from one configuration package to another from the Configuration Manager.

To copy or move a file from one package to another package
  1. In the MCS Selection panel, point to Products and then click INFOConnect Enterprise Edition.
  2. The Manage INFOConnect Enterprise Edition Configurations page appears in the MCS Management panel.

  3. On the Manage INFOConnect Enterprise Edition Configurations page, select the package containing the file you want to copy or move.

  4. Click Properties at the bottom of the MCS Management panel.
  5. The Properties dialog box appears.

  6. From the Files in Configuration Package list, select the file that you want to copy or move.

  7. From the Other Configuration Packages list, select the file to which you want to copy or move the file.

  8. Click the Copy >> button.
  9. The file is copied to the configuration package you specified.

    -or-

    Click the Move >> button.

    The file is removed from the original configuration package and moved to the configuration package you specified.
