Assigning a Configuration or Distribution

Once configuration files have been uploaded to MCS, you can create a configuration package and then assign files or packages to users or groups. Additionally, you can assign a distribution for a product installation or patch after you create a distribution.

To assign a configuration or distribution
  1. In the MCS Selection panel, point to Products and then click INFOConnect Enterprise Edition.

    2. The INFOConnect Enterprise Edition tree appears.

  2. Click Configuration Manager, then select the configuration file or package you want to assign to users.

    3. Note You must select Show All Configuration Files to display a list that includes configuration files that are already assigned to a package. (Only the names of configuration packages and unassigned configuration files are displayed by default.)

    Click Distribution Manager, then select the distribution you want to assign to users.

  3. Click Assign Users at the bottom of the MCS Management panel.

  4. From the Directory list box, select the user or group to whom you want to assign the configuration or distribution.

    5. Note You must select Show Users to display a list that includes individual users defined in the directory service. (Only groups are displayed by default.)
  5. Click Add to move the selected user or group to the Assigned list box.

    6. To remove a user or group from the Assigned list, select the user or group from the Assigned list, and then click Remove.

  6. Click OK to save your settings.
