Security Settings for INFOConnect Enterprise Edition employs MCS Security Services, which supports both secure and unsecure connections between the workstation and the MCS server (depending on the encryption settings you specify).
Administrative Permissions is used to specify which of the users or groups included in the directory service can access the MCS console to upload configuration and installation files to MCS.
Authentication is used to specify the level of authentication required (for both administrators and users) to access MCS. You can also specify whether user names and passwords are saved locally in a cookie (so that users don't need to log in each time they access MCS), and whether they are required to access MCS through a secure port.
