Introduction

This file contains installation notes and known issues for this release of INFOConnect Airlines Gateway.

Installation Notes

Installing the Patch from the Command Line

To install the INFOConnect patch from the command line or a batch file, use the following command:

msiexec.exe /p infogw21sp2.msp REINSTALL=ALL REINSTALLMODE=omus

The Microsoft Windows Installer provides a variety of additional command line options for customizing installation. (For more information, see the Microsoft Windows Installer documentation.)

Installing on Windows Vista

The INFOConnect Airlines Gateway cannot be used on Windows Vista and should not be installed on a Windows Vista machine.

Installing INFOConnect Airlines Gateway on the Same Computer as INFOConnect

You can install the INFOConnect Airlines Gateway version 2.0.1 on the same computer as INFOConnect Enterprise Edition, but your version of INFOConnect must be version 8.1 or later.

Replacing a Previous Version

To replace a version of the Airlines Gateway prior to version 2.0 with version 2.0.1, do the following:

  1. Export translations and host paths from the previous version of the Airlines Gateway.
  2. Uninstall the previous version.
  3. Install Airlines Gateway version 2.0.1 and reset the Administrator password.
  4. Import the original translations and host paths into Airlines Gateway version 2.0.1.

The procedures described below assume that the previous version of the gateway was installed to the default location (C:\INFOCN32), and that the CD/DVD drive is D.

To export translations and host paths from a previous version
  1. Insert the CD containing version 2.0.1 of the Airlines Gateway.

  2. Cancel any Autorun processes that launch when the CD is inserted.

  3. From the Start menu, open a command prompt by clicking Run, then typing:

    cmd

  4. Use the cd command to navigate to the CD/DVD drive and navigate to the UTIL folder (for example, D:\UTIL).

  5. Run the following command to export all translations and host paths:

    EXPIMP-L /s /g /dc:\infocn32\oldgw.ini

    where:

    • The /s option indicates silent mode (no UI is displayed during the export).

    • The /g option causes the 'old' section and path template names in the .INI file to be updated to the 'new' styles used by version 2.0.

    • The text following the /d option (c:\infocn32\oldgw.ini) indicates the complete path and name for the export file to be created.

To uninstall a previous version of the Airlines Gateway
  1. From the Start menu, open Control Panel, then choose Add or Remove Programs.

  2. From the list of programs, select INFOConnect 32-bit, and then choose Change/Remove.

  3. At the prompt, choose Yes to start uninstalling the previous version.

The uninstall process does not delete the C:\INFOCN32 directory. If you saved OLDGW.INI to the folder as described in the preceding section on exporting translations and host paths from a previous version, that file will still be present after the uninstall completes.

To install the Airlines Gateway version 2.0.1
  1. Follow the installation procedures found in the Product Guide.
Caution Consider installing the new version into the old folder structure (that is, C:\INFOCN32) rather than the default directory for version 2.0.1. If you install to a new location and are using SABRE or MATIP, you will have to use a text editor to open the export file (oldgw.ini), search for any occurrences of the old path, and replace them with the new install path.
  2. Open Gateway Administrator. From the Start button, point to All Programs, Attachmate INFOConnect Airlines Gateway, and then click Gateway Administrator.

Opening the Gateway Administrator causes an empty INFOConnect database to be created.

  3. When prompted, enter and confirm the Administrator password.

  4. Close Gateway Administrator.
To import the original translations and host paths
  1. From the Start menu, open a command prompt by clicking Run, then typing:

    cmd

  2. Use the cd command to navigate to the folder in which Airlines Gateway version 2.0 was installed (for example, C:\INFOCN32).

  3. Run the following command to import the original translations and host paths:

    EXPIMP32 /s /ic:\infocn32\oldgw.ini

    where:

    • The /s option indicates silent mode (no UI is displayed during the export).

    • The text following the /i option (c:\infocn32\oldgw.ini) indicates the complete path and name for the export file created before removing the previous version of the Airlines Gateway.

After restarting Gateway Administrator, the original paths and translations should be available for use.
