Installation Notes

Installing INFOConnect Airlines Gateway on the Same Computer as INFOConnect

You can install the INFOConnect Airlines Gateway on the same computer as INFOConnect only if you are using INFOConnect version 8.1 or later.

Replacing a Previous Version

Replacing a previous version of the Airlines Gateway with Version 2 requires the following steps:

  1. Exporting translations and host paths from the previous version of the Airlines Gateway.

  2. Uninstalling the previous version.

  3. Installing Airlines Gateway v. 2.0 and resetting the Administrator password.

  4. Importing the original translations and host paths into Airlines Gateway v. 2.0.

The following procedures assume that the previous version of the gateway was installed to the default location (C:\INFOCN32), and that the CD/DVD drive is D:.

To export translations and host paths from a previous version
  1. Insert the CD containing Version 2 of the Gateway. Cancel any Autorun processes that may begin.

  2. From the Start menu, open a command prompt by clicking Run, then typing:

    cmd

  3. Use the cd command to navigate to the CD/DVD drive and navigate to the UTIL folder (e.g., D:\UTIL).

  4. Run the following command to export all translations and host paths:

    EXPIMP-L /s /g /dc:\infocn32\oldgw.ini

    where:

    • The /s option is for 'silent' mode, so that no UI is displayed during the export.

    • The /g option causes the 'old' section and path template names in the .INI file to be updated to the 'new' styles used by Version 2.0.

    • The text after the /d option (c:\infocn32\oldgw.ini) is the complete path and name for the export file to be created.

To uninstall a previous version of the Airlines Gateway
  1. From the Start menu, open Control Panel, and choose Add or Remove Programs.

  2. From the list of programs, select INFOConnect 32-bit, then choose Change/Remove.

    At the prompt, choose Yes to start uninstalling the previous version.

The uninstall process will not delete the C:\INFOCN32 directory. If you saved OLDGW.INI to this folder as shown above, that file will also remain after the uninstall.

To install the Airlines Gateway v. 2.0
  1. Follow the installation procedures found in the Product Guide.
    Caution Consider installing the new version into the old folder structure (e.g., C:\INFOCN32) rather than the default directory for version 2.0. If you install to a new location, and are using SABRE or MATIP, you must use a text editor to open the export file (oldgw.ini), search for any occurrences of the old path, and replace them with the new install path.
  2. Open Gateway Administrator. To do this, click the Start button, point to All Programs, point to Attachmate INFOConnect Airlines Gateway, and click Gateway Administrator.

    This will cause an empty INFOConnect database to be created.

  3. When prompted, enter and confirm the Administrator password.

  4. Close Gateway Administrator.

To import the original translations and host paths
  1. From the Start menu, open a command prompt by clicking Run, then typing:

    cmd

  2. Use the cd command to navigate to the folder into which Airlines Gateway v. 2.0 was installed (e.g., C:\INFOCN32).

  3. Run the following command to import the original translations and host paths:

    EXPIMP32 /s /ic:\infocn32\oldgw.ini

    where:

    • The /s option is for 'silent' mode, so that no UI is displayed during the export.

    • The text after the /i option (c:\infocn32\oldgw.ini) is the complete path and name for the export file created before removing the previous version of the Airlines Gateway.

After restarting Gateway Administrator, the original paths and translations should be available for use.

Clients Supported with INFOConnect Airlines Gateway

This version of INFOConnect Airlines Gateway supports client connections with INFOConnect 8.1 or later. If you require support for a different version or a different client, please contact AttachmateWRQ technical support.
