Managing Host Connections

In order to establish connections between networked PCs and a host, INFOConnect Airlines Gateway has to receive connection requests from the networked PCs and then establish a connection with the host. It does this using paths. A path is simply a named set of configuration data about the connection.

The Airlines Gateway uses two kinds of paths:

These paths are shown in the figure below.

A configuration translation maps a host path to a listening path. Configuration translations are created using the Configuration Translation wizard.
