- Click Start, and from the Programs folder, choose Administrative Tools, then Active Directory Users and Computers.
The Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in opens.
- Right-click the organizational unit to which you want to publish the installation, and then click Properties.
Group policies can only be deployed at the OU level.
- Click the Group Policy tab.
- Click New to create a new Group Policy object.

Click Edit to update an existing Group Policy object (you can edit the name of the object at this time).

- With the object you created or selected, click Edit.
The Group Policy window opens.
- In the left pane, open User Configuration, or, if you want to deploy to computers, open Computer Configuration, and then open Software Settings.
- Right-click Software Installation, click New, and then click Package.
- In the Open dialog box, locate the INFOConnect Enterprise Edition package (INFO81.msi), or enter the UNC path to this file next to File Name, and then click Open.

Do not select by going through myComputer. This will make each installation look to its computer to install. Instead, enter in a UNC path, such as:
\\servername\share\directory\msfile.msi |
- Select the Deployment tab.
- Indicate whether the Deployment Type is Published or Assigned.
- Select the Deployment options:

- Select the Installation User Interface options: Basic specifies that only the progress bar will be visible during install (that is, no user intervention allowed); Maximum specifies that the full user interface will be visible during install (that is, complete user intervention is allowed).
- (Optional) Click the Advanced button to access the Advanced Deployment Options dialog box, from which you can select Advanced Deployment options, which specify whether to deploy the package even if it is in a different language.
- Specify any necessary information on the Upgrades tab.
- Select the Modifications Tab, and if you are applying a transform, click Add.
- In the Open dialog box, locate the transform file you created using the Custom Installation wizard, and then click Open.
Make sure that you have specified the transform(s) to use before clicking OK. If you don't, you will need to start the assign and publish process over.
- Select the Security tab, and review the settings.

The installation is now ready for delivery to those users/computers selected under Active Directory. Each user will receive the software the next time he or she logs in; computers will receive it the next time the computer is rebooted.
