Upgrading

To upgrade INFOConnect, MCS, or Windows, follow the directions below.

Note When you upgrade INFOConnect from a previous release, any existing, predefined keyboard maps (such as T27.EKM or PEPWIN.EKM) are not overwritten. This ensures that your changes to those keyboard maps are not lost. However, it also means that you will not receive any new features added to those keyboard maps. See the Accessory Manager online help for instructions on adding new keyboard map features.
To upgrade INFOConnect
  • To upgrade INFOConnect from Millenium II or newer to the Enterprise Edition, see the Installation.

When upgrading from or overinstalling the Millennium II edition, for the upgrade or overinstall to be successful, you must select Yes to uninstall Millennium II, and OK when the uninstall is complete.

When the Enterprise Edition is installed, the previous installation database is updated. Because the update can't be undone, the original database is saved by changing its .cfg extension to .cf0.

  • To upgrade from older versions, you must uninstall the old version before installing INFOConnect Enterprise Edition.

To upgrade to Windows 2000 or XP
When you upgrade from an earlier version of Windows to Windows 2000 or XP, all changes necessary to support INFOConnect under the new version of Windows are made automatically.
Note If the user data location is My Documents, then UTS with MATIP will not work after upgrade because it does not support My Documents under Windows 2000 or Windows XP. You will need to uninstall and reinstall using a different user data location.
