HostOptions

Description

The properties in this group can be used to select and configure a specific mode of terminal emulation. You can change the terminal mode while a session is active. The options described here are available in VT, SCO-ANSI, and AT386 sessions. They are equivalent to the options on the page Settings, Display, General.

Unless noted, all terminal-related properties have the following syntax:

Names and Descriptions of individual properties

Answerback Property

Returns or sets the string sent in response to an ENQ ( ^E) from the host. Use up to 31 characters, including control and special codes. The { character should be enclosed in quotes.

 

CharacterSetMode Property

Returns or sets a string to indicate whether to use 7-bit and 8-bit characters, or just 7-bit.

Multinational

The ASCII character set is mapped into the lower (7-bit) character set (GL), and the User Preferred Character Set is mapped into the upper (8-bit) character set (GR).

National

the character set is defined by the NationalCharacterSet property. Not available in a SCO-ANSI or AT386 session.

 

CustomPrimaryDA Property

Returns or sets the custom Primary Device Attributes response. The DAResponse property must be "Custom".

 

CustomSecondaryDA Property

Returns or sets the custom Secondary Device Attributes response. The DAResponse property must be "Custom".

 

DAResponse Property

Returns or sets how EXTRA! 2001 identifies itself to the host. Use a string from the list.

Define strings for CustomPrimaryDA and CustomSecondaryDA Properties

 

DisableLocator Property

Returns or sets whether to disable ANSI locator mode. If TRUE, ANSI Locator mode is diabled. Not available in SCO-ANSI or AT386 sessions.

LocalEcho Property

Returns or sets whether the emulation window displays the characters sent to the host (TRUE), or lets the host handle echo (FALSE).

Local mode is available as a property of the Session object.

LockUserFeatures Property

Returns or sets whether the host system can change the settings of the user preference features, columns, scoll and inverse screen. If TRUE, the host system cannot change the settings.

LockUserKeys Property

Returns or sets whether the host system can change user-defined keys (UDKs). If TRUE, the host system cannot change UDKs. Not available in SCO-ANSI or AT386 sessions.

 

NationalCharacterSet Property

Returns or sets which National Replacement Character Set to map into the lower (7-bit) character set (GL). This is the character set used when the property CharacterSetMode is "National". The upper (8-bit) character set (GR) is unavailable. Not available in SCO-ANSI or AT386 sessions. Use a constant or value from the following list.

UseEuroforInternationalCurrencySymbol Property

Returns or sets whether to use the Euro as the International currency symbol. If TRUE, Euro is used. This property applies only when the UserPreferredCharacterSet property is "ISO Latin-1". Not available in SCO-ANSI or AT386 sessions.

UserPreferredCharacterSet Property

Returns or sets a string to indicate which 8-bit supplemental character set to use. To display one of the Turkish or Greek character sets, you must use the Arial Terminal font or Lucida For Attachmate font.
