Creating Secure Connections in EXTRA!

The security protocols for EXTRA! connections over a TCP/IP network use the latest Attachmate security. This section describes how you can configure any EXTRA! session type using the upgraded security protocols, including how to configure digital certificates. To use certificates successfully, you must know how they are handled for your server. For more information, see Authenticating with Certificates in EXTRA!.

To take advantage of the upgraded security protocols, use any of the following configurations:

Migrating Existing Sessions to the Upgraded Security Protocols

If your existing session files are configured to use security, EXTRA! will automatically switch to the upgraded security protocol when you connect to the host. You can permanently change the security setting to use the upgraded protocol by editing the connection settings for a session. The new security settings are saved to the session profile.
