Installing EXTRA! X-treme from the Command Line

You can use command-line options to install EXTRA! X-treme from the CD or from a network location specified by the system administrator. A system administrator can include command-line options in a batch file to preset installation parameters and limit user interaction while EXTRA! is installing, or provide an unattended installation by suppressing installation dialog boxes entirely.

In addition, system administrators can use command-line options and properties in the EXTRA! X-treme .msi file to prepare EXTRA! for installation by users. Reflection Secure FTP and the EXTRA! X-treme Guide can be installed from the command line as well.

To install EXTRA! X-treme from the command line
  1. Insert the product CD or locate the appropriate files on the network as specified by the system administrator.

  2. At the command prompt, or the Start menu Run or (from Microsoft Vista) the Start Search command, type:

    msiexec /i path/filename.msi

where path is the complete path to the appropriate .msi file, and filename is one of the following:

    This .msi file
    Installs
    ATMEE90.msi EXTRA! X-treme
    RF140ilc.msi Reflection Secure FTP
    EE90PG.msi EXTRA! X-treme Guide

For example, you would use EXTRA!\ATMEE90.msi to install EXTRA! X-treme from the product CD.

Note You can further customize your installation with additional command-line switches and MSI properties. For example, to perform a silent install, you could enter the following:

    msiexec /i path/filename IDC_KEYCODE_EDIT=access_code /qn

where path is the complete path to the appropriate .msi file, and filename is the .msi for the component you want to install, and access_code is the access code for your location. The access code is located on the Attachmate Software License Agreement or the Attachmate Additional License Agreement. (No access code is required for RF140ilc.msi or EE90PG.msi.)

Software licenses cannot be displayed during a silent install. Before making EXTRA! X-treme or Reflection Secure FTP available to users through a silent install, you must have first read and accepted the appropriate software license agreement.
