Many ID management activities, such as creating new pools and IDs, moving IDs, or deleting pools or IDs, and viewing and changing pool and ID properties are performed in the Configure IDs pane.
To display the Configure IDs pane, choose Services | ID Management | Configure IDs.
Toolbar: This pane includes a toolbar of commands; individual commands become available when you click an appropriate item in the tree or table. The same commands are available in a shortcut menu if you select and right-click an item in the tree or table.
Pool tree: The tree on the left side of the Configure IDs pane displays a list of existing ID pools, nested beneath a particular pool type. ID pools are further divided by pool name and host type. A pool type is displayed in this tree only if you have already created at least one pool of that type.
To expand the tree, click . To display the commands available for an item, select the item in the tree and click your right mouse button.
ID table: Displays a list of existing IDs. Individual columns are displayed only if they are relevant to the item selected in the tree on the left.
To display the commands available for IDs, select an ID in the table and click your right mouse button.
ID Name: Displays a unique identifier for this ID.
Pool Name: Displays the name of the pool to which this ID belongs.
Pool Type: Displays the pool type for the pool to which this ID belongs.
Host Type: Displays the type of host that the ID can be used with.
ID Type: Displays the type of session that this ID can be used for. The available types are different, depending on the type of host the ID is used for. For example, IDs for 3270 hosts can be associated with printer and terminal sessions and IDs for UTS hosts can be associated with individual applications.
Host Name: Displays the host name used with this ID. Host names are associated with IP addresses or DNS names in the Host Mappings dialog box.
Allocated: Displays the current status of the selected ID. If the allocated status is true, you cannot change the ID's properties. The status in this page is refreshed only when you first visit the page. To get a more accurate ID status, you should view IDs in the Monitor IDs pane.
