Management & Control Services (MCS) reports current and historical usage of Terminal Viewer sessions, including summary statistics on maximum usage, by tracking the consumption of client license certificates.
MCS meters licenses on a per-user basis, not on a per-session basis. If a user employs a single MCS login ID to download multiple viewers, only the first one downloaded will consume a license; the additional viewers will not consume any licenses. However, if a user employs a separate login ID for each viewer, then each viewer consumes a license.
When a viewer connects, it consumes a license. When it disconnects, it returns the license to MCS.
