Configuration migration is not available for Host Access Server Windows Edition 2.2.1 or earlier versions, nor for any version of Host Viewer Services or HostView Server.
|To migrate viewer configurations created in a previous version|
The Express Viewers Migration wizard migrates u3270, u5250, and uVT configurations and keyboard maps from Host Access Server (HAS) Management 2.2.x for use with Terminal Viewers. You can also migrate your existing WebView user and group assignments, as long as the configuration and WebView use the same name, and as long as the same directory service is used.
The Enterprise Viewers Migration Wizard migrates 3270, 5250, and VT configurations from Host Access Server (HAS) 2.3.x and 2.4.x for use with Terminal Viewers, including the following:
For example, if you installed only AS/400 viewers, any existing HAS IBM Mainframe viewer configurations will not be migrated.
This applies only if users are configured with exactly the same user names in the Management & Control Services (MCS) directory service as they had in the Host Access Server directory service. For this reason, it is beneficial to use the same directory service in MCS as was used in HAS.
For example, if a user had permissions set on AS/400 Terminal 5250, then those permissions also apply to the Terminal Viewers 5250 Terminal configuration. This also applies only if the user names are the same.
To view detailed results of the migration, refer to the mcs.log file after the migration is completed. This file lists all of the configurations that were successfully migrated, and reports any errors that occurred. The mcs.log file is located in the MCS installation directory.
