Configuring ID Sets
IDs assigned to a pool can be grouped into sets. By creating a set, you ensure that when a user receives one ID in a set, the second session the user opens will use another ID from the same set.
After an ID in a set has been allocated, IDs in the same set can be allocated only to the same user. If all the IDs in a set are used, the user can receive IDs from outside the set (either IDs in another set or IDs that aren't part of a set).
||Because IDs for directory service pools are dynamically created when requested and exist only while allocated, you cannot create ID sets for directory service pools.
|To create and configure an ID set
- Create a pool of IDs.
- In the ID Management, Configure IDs pane, click the Sets button on the toolbar.
- In the Create Sets dialog box, select a pool name from the drop-down list of available pools.
The IDs in the pool are displayed under Available IDs. For a description of options in this dialog box, click Help.
- Do one of the following:
|Add an ID set
||Type a name for the ID set, and choose Add.
The set is added to the list of available sets.
|Add IDs to a set
||Under Available Sets, select an ID set. Under Available IDs, select IDs and choose Add to add them to the selected set.
|Remove IDs from a set
||Under Available Sets, select an ID set. Under Set IDs, select IDs and choose Remove to remove them from the selected set and add them back to the Available IDs.
|Delete an ID set
||Select a set from the list, and choose Delete.
When you delete an ID set, the IDs are not deleted but they are no longer a part of a set.
