Installing Cached Terminal Viewers

A cached install allows you to install supervised viewers. This type of install places the viewers in your browser's cache to avoid long download times when you access a viewer from Terminal Viewers. A supervised viewer install includes all the necessary Java class files, but requires a connection with Terminal Viewers to run.

This type of installation lets administrators set permissions for the client, allowing them to choose the level of control that the end user has of the viewer.

To install Cached Terminal Viewers
  1. Insert the CD labeled Cached Browser-Based Emulation into the CD-ROM drive.

  2. Choose Install Product.

  3. Choose your language, and then follow the prompts.

You can install viewers for the following host types: IBM Mainframe, AS/400, and UNIX/VMS.
