Setting the Authentication Type for Accessing the MCS Console

Setting the authentication type specifies the credentials that users must supply to access the MCS console and store data such as presentations and configurations on the MCS server.

This authentication is specifically for MCS; authentication for accessing presentations and configurations is set separately. For more information, see Authenticating Presentation Users.

To set the authentication type for accessing MCS
  1. In the MCS left pane, point to Services and then click Security.

  2. Under Security, click Authentication.

  3. From the Authentication page under Authentication Type, select the desired level of authentication for accessing the MCS console.

    For a description of the authentication types or other options on this page, click Help in the upper-right corner of the MCS window.

  4. Click Save to activate your settings.
