DEFAULT FORMAT

Syntax:

DEFAULT FORMAT formatname

This parameter sets the default format you want to use for every FILTER that does not specify a format via the FORMAT clause. If you do not make an entry, the default format is DBFORMAT, which is the same as RAWFORMAT, explained in the DATABridge Programmer’s Reference.

To override this default format, enter a format name when you specify a filter, as explained in the next section.

You should specify a format only when you have a custom (user-written) format that needs to manipulate the updates for some special purpose. If the Server Accessory will use the filtered audit files, the formatting routine must write the updates in binary (not text) format.
